According to user reports on platforms like Downdetector, issues began around 2AM on 6 March 2024 (AEDT Users reported problems with:

Logging in: Many were unable to access their accounts, receiving error messages or experiencing difficulties entering their credentials.
Loading content:Feeds, profiles, and other content wouldn’t load properly, displaying error messages or appearing blank.
General functionality: Some users encountered issues with specific features within the apps

Facebook is logging users out of their accounts, leaving them unable to get back in. Meanwhile, over on Instagram, some users,

Meta acknowledged the issue on its status page with a message timestamped 10:17AM ET, reading, “We are aware of an issue impacting Facebook Login. Our engineering teams are actively looking to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”

Based on current reports, both Facebook and Instagram don’t yet appear to be operational again. Hopefully this will update soon. , it’s important to note that technical difficulties can sometimes take time to fully resolve, and isolated issues might still occur for some users.
