New Year’s Resolutions That Actually Mean Something

Every January, people make the same promises. Get fit. Work harder. Be happier. Most of those disappear by February because they are vague and comfortable.

This year, I’m doing it differently.

These resolutions aren’t about reinventing myself. They’re about tightening how I work, focusing on what matters, and building something sustainable instead of just staying busy.

1. Do Less, But Do It Properly

I’m done spreading myself thin. Saying yes to everything leads to rushed work and average results. This year, I’m focusing on fewer projects and delivering higher-quality outcomes.

That means better planning, cleaner execution, and more attention to detail across photography, video production, and web design. If I take on a project, it gets done properly.

2. Treat My Creative Work Like a Business

Creative work only works when it’s treated seriously. Clear scopes, realistic timelines, and honest pricing are non-negotiable this year.

For clients, that means smoother projects, better communication, and results that actually align with their goals. For me, it means work I can stand behind without burning out.

3. Focus on Storytelling, Not Just Deliverables

Anyone can hand over photos or a finished video. What matters is the story behind it.

This year, I’m doubling down on storytelling across everything I produce, whether that’s branded content, short-form video, or a website that actually guides users instead of confusing them. The goal is work that connects, not just looks good.

4. Improve One Core Skill at a Time

Instead of chasing every new tool or trend, I’m focusing on sharpening my core skills. Better editing, stronger visual narratives, and more intentional design decisions.

That focus directly benefits the clients I work with. Less gimmicks. More clarity.

5. Build Better Client Relationships

Good work comes from good collaboration. This year, I’m prioritising clear communication and long-term partnerships over quick one-off jobs.

If you’re a business, organisation, or individual looking for consistent, reliable creative support, that’s where I do my best work.

6. Create Work I’m Proud to Put My Name On

If a project doesn’t meet my standards, it doesn’t leave the door. Simple as that.

Whether it’s photography, video, or a website, my focus this year is delivering work that holds up long after it’s published.

Looking Ahead

These resolutions aren’t marketing fluff. They’re how I plan to work moving forward.

If you’re planning a project this year and want creative work that’s thoughtful, reliable, and built around clear goals, feel free to get in touch. I’m currently taking on a limited number of photography, video production, and web design projects.

This year isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing better.
